The threat gauge indicates an Average theft threat level, with the needle positioned in the yellow–orange range of the scale. According to the data provided for this reporting week, 65 cargo‑theft incidents were recorded nationwide.

California remains the most impacted state during this period, continuing its trend as a key hotspot for organized cargo‑theft activity. Food and Beverage commodities were the most frequently targeted category, reflecting persistent demand-driven theft patterns. The data also shows that Warehouse/Distribution Centers were the primary locations affected, underscoring ongoing vulnerabilities in static‑storage environments.

CargoNet Fictitious Pickup Alert - Fairfield, NJ - Fragrances

Theft of Cargo

Incident Description


Between 01/20/26 03:30 PM and 01/20/26 04:30 PM, a shipment of men's and women's fragrances was fictitiously picked up from a warehouse on Lehigh Dr., Fairfield, NJ.

Unknown actor(s) impersonated a motor carrier and were hired to transport fragrance products. The individuals departed with the cargo and never delivered it.

The driver name provided was "Edwin", using phone number 945-392-4088. He arrived in a white Volvo tractor pulling an unmarked white reefer semi-trailer with a side door on the passenger side. Tractor number 63646 and trailer number 5237A were given during the hiring process, though the shipper did not confirm them.

The shipment remains undelivered, and the individuals involved are currently unreachable.
