Cargo Theft Intelligence 2025

CargoNet has raised its Cargo Theft Threat Meter to "EXTREME" for the week of June 11–17, 2025, following a surge in reported thefts. A total of 71 cargo theft events were reported, with California once again emerging as the most targeted state. Food and beverage commodities were the most frequently stolen, reflecting ongoing demand and ease of resale. The majority of incidents occurred at warehouse and distribution centers, driven largely by supply chain fraud and strategic theft tactics, underscoring the need for increased vigilance and verification protocols across logistics operations.
